Data.gov.bn is an online data platform for Brunei Darussalam open data.

 

The main purpose of data.gov.bn is to encourage government agencies and public to access and reuse the government data. Through this data platform any authorized government agencies can upload their public data so that other government agency and public can use that data.

All the datasets provided through data.gov.bn has been created and collected by Brunei Government agencies.

At its core, the concept of Open Data is to release and make available to the public all data collected by an organization. This data can be accessed and shared through the online platforms, and subsequently freely downloaded, processed, and/or analyzed by the user to solve problems, attain better-informed decisions, produce knowledge, inspire new ideas, or stimulate economic growth.

The main objectives of data.gov.bn are:

• To enhance economic growth.
• To improve public service delivery.

The Data.gov.bn website portal is developed by E-Government National Centre (EGNC) under the Ministry of Transport and Infocommunications, and managed by Department of Economic Planning and Statistics, Ministry of Finance and Economy. All data available on the platform is owned, contributed, and uploaded by the respective data publishers indicated in each data set.​
